Can furniture ever change how human interacts with each other?

Heeding the creative brief of FociCollective, brand consultant for the project, we designed the all-new Forest Cloud Experience Store & Cafe with a sole aim – to reflect the brand’s risk-taking, edgy and adventurous nature through their space at Jalan Penang, located right in the heart of Georgetown.

Continuing our exploration on furniture and how they spur human interactions, we gave life to the space with an unorthodox seating layout that breaks down barriers and ties human connections together. The custom-fabricated furniture are the perfect prototype of our Tongue & Groove system – fusing practicality with tactility, nuance, and flexibility in which the whole inter-changable series can be used as seating, high table, or ornament piece in the space.

To create a seamless flow from experiential to the casual enjoyment of a cuppa, we divided the zone in accordance to their functions, right from the retail shelf to the experience bar to seatings and onto the main coffee bar. Embracing the modernist side of the brand, we kept the space in an understated elegance through a deft combination of white-washed walls, stainless steel, aluminium, and timber. The space is also given another layer of depth with our collaborated landscape installation with Sputnikforest.
