“Made In The Future” is a lifestyle apparel pop-up store conceived by the collaboration of Against Lab and Futuremade Studio. By referencing to respective brand’s philosophy and their latest concept of breaking the orthodoxies, we decided to explore the idea of progressing forward by looking backwards. In doing so, we pursued the idea of construction in it’s most primitive form which involves neither bolts, nuts and any other type of fastener. The entire pop-up store ultimately came to life in the form of Tongue & Groove system.

Symbolising Against Lab’s progressive movement, we utilised the unconventional yet highly functional polycarbonate to form most part of the structure whilst keeping Futuremade Studio’s meticulous attention to detail in sight; where wooden blocks are wedged together in tongue and groove joint to connect the polycarbonate pieces together.
